The Joolz collection of Berber and Tuareg jewellery is a fascinating assortment of silver and alloys, enamel and ebony, carnelian, onyx and beadwork  It is rich with symbolism and cultural meaning.  While some of the symbols might appear familiar outside of their place of manufacture,, they are in fact ancient indigenous designs of practical and familial import.  The Southern Cross, Cross of Agadez, or Teneghilt tan Agadez for example contains symblic compasspoints in it's design, rather than suggesting a Christian predict.  The popular carnelian and lapiz earrings and pendants share a love of scarab symbolism with the ancient Egyptians.
